Editor Early Childhood Education GoodheartWillcox Publisher Experts in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and an employeeowned company is seeking anEditor. This role will focus on the Early Childhood Education discipline. The Editor will play a lead role in managing multiple projects through the editorial process. We welcome candidates from any location in the U.S. to apply. Chicagoland candidates will follow a hybrid schedule working at least two days per month in our Tinley Park Illinois office. Our compensation is market based and takes into account a variety of factors including the candidates skill set experience level internal equity and location. For this position we anticipate the starting salary falling between $56500 and $70450 per year. In addition the company makes a 10 contribution to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan and a 4 matching contribution to the 401(k). What youll do: - Work with authors and the publishing team to successfully manage revisions/new products from planning through publication.
- Assist with reviewing establishing and executing product development plans and market development plans for new or revised titles.
- Provide direction guidance and feedback to authors/outside developers throughout the manuscript development process with respect to text narrative illustrations pedagogy and supplements.
- Facilitate and execute each step of the development editing and production preparatory stages.
- Edit research verify the accuracy of content and write (as needed) manuscripts for products.
- Edit design/create and obtain illustrations tables charts and photographic images for products.
- Help find and choose qualified reviewers. Work with reviewers to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the manuscript.
What youll bring: - Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum four years of experience editing working with educational content development instructional design or teaching content and course material in early childhood education required.
- Proficiency in basic English language skills needed to perform editing tasks specifically sufficient grammar and usage.
- Understanding of state or certificationbased educational standards as well as experience correlating and editing educational materials to those standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Windows.
- Experience in editing K12 educational products and postsecondary materials.
