Position Overview: Washington D.C. nonprofit organization seeks an experienced Video Editor with mastery in Adobe Premiere and proficiency in After Effects and Motion Graphics (minimum of 5 years of editing experience). About the Role
Position Title: Video Editor
Position Objective: This role involves creating engaging video content including social media clips documentaries and promotional materials to deliver the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicines message of improving human and animal lives through plant-based diets and ethical scientific research to new audiences in innovative and compelling ways. The position includes editing and optimizing video content across platforms to enhance audience engagement and strengthen the organizations brand. Each video project will promote and drive viewer engagement online and enhance the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicines brand and visibility.
About the Communications Team: The Physicians Committees communications team works to maximize publicity for our campaigns programs and research studies through traditional and social media. The team oversees all media relations social media videos advertising digital marketing and website management for the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Edit a variety of videos for programs promos media coverage social media and our website.
- Create and edit custom motion graphics for branded content.
- Properly store and catalog all video and audio components.
- Stay current on video industry trends and standards.
- Maintain and meet filming dates project deadlines and release dates.
- Upload and publish video content to all appropriate channels with titles and descriptions optimized for SEO and high visibility.
- Collaborate with other departments to determine video needs and visual style.
- Attend local events and shoot/edit the video as needed (10% of job responsibility).
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Required Physical Abilities: Office work plus the ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Location: This is a full-time position that may be performed remotely from any location in the United States. Candidates in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area are preferred.
Required Travel: None.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position (40 hours per week). The Physicians Committees core business hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday ET.
Position Level: The position level for this role is Coordinator (average of 11 years of relevant work experience).
Salary: A salary offer will take into consideration education experience and skills along with internal and external reference points. Candidates are encouraged to discuss salary with a positions hiring manager early in the interview process to ensure alignment.

- Maximum: $78000

Qualifications
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: None.
Credentials:
- Required: None.

Work Experience:
- Required: A minimum of 8 years of work experience including 5 years of editing experience.
- Preferred: A minimum of 10 years of editing experience as well as videography and production experience.
Additional Qualities:
- Required:
- Must be an experienced editor with mastery in Adobe Premiere and proficiency in After Effects and Motion Graphics.
- A demonstrated passion for our mission to advance plant-based eating and reduce reliance on animals in research ideally reflected in your own commitment toward a vegan lifestyle.
- Knowledge of latest production equipment trends and techniques and self-motivation to stay up to date with trends.
- Preferred:
- Experience producing videos from concept to shoot to final edit.
