Our client a wellestablished leader in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst (Manufacturing Experience an Asset) to join their growing team in a fulltime.Based in Markham ON.
As a Senior Accounting Analyst you will play a critical role in supporting the accuracy integrity and timeliness of the companys financial operations and reporting. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams such as Operations Procurement Sales and Logistics to ensure alignment with overall financial objectives.
This highimpact role is ideal for a motivated analytical individual who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is experienced in managing complex financial data particularly within a manufacturing setting.
Reporting Responsibility:
This position will report directly to the Financial Analysis Manager and will interact closely with the management team logistics sales and purchasing groups.
Duties:
- Lead monthly and quarterly closing activities ensuring accurate journal entries balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Oversee Inventory Management: processing entries analyzing reporting tracking and reconciling accounts while partnering with the Logistics team on variances trends and forecasting.
- Manage Fixed Assets: processing entries analyzing reporting tracking and account reconciliation while collaborating with the Engineering team on documentation and reporting standards.
- Handle Intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial reports journal entries and audit schedules.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP SOX documentation and internal control procedures.
- Support the creation of forecasts and business plans.
- Perform detailed financial analysis on company spending and costing fixed assets inventory direct costs overhead.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support external audits and internal control reviews.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure financial results align with organizational goals.
- Assist with adhoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation or actively working towards CPA is preferred.
- 35 years of relevant experience in accounting ideally in a manufacturing environment (automotive experience is a plus).
- Strong technical accounting skills; experience in operational accounting is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI.
- Handson experience with ERP systems (such as JDE Hyperion or comparable).
- Experience with US GAAP reporting standards.
- Prior exposure to SOX compliance and participation in external audits.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a highpressure environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to both financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Experience working with complex financial models and performing scenario analysis.
