Job Description
Job Title: Lathe Manufacturing Engineer
Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes for lathe machining operations.
Design review and optimize tooling jigs and fixtures for lathe machines.
Prepare CNC and manual lathe programs to meet production requirements and tolerances.
Conduct feasibility studies and process validation for new components and products.
Monitor production performance identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with design quality and production teams to ensure product specifications are met.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and develop corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain process documentation SOPs and work instructions.
Ensure adherence to ISO/ASME quality standards and safety protocols.
Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities for lathe equipment.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2 5 years of experience in lathe machining and manufacturing engineering.
Hands-on experience with both CNC and manual lathe machines.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and engineering drawings.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of machining processes cutting parameters and material properties.
Proficiency in CNC programming (Fashanu/Siemens or similar).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
Experience in process planning and optimization.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is an added advantage.
