Job Description

SUBSIDIARY: The Center for Autism (CFA)

PROGRAM: 1:1 ABA

JOB OVERVIEW:

The BCABA provides mental health services utilizing the evidencebased practice Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in home school and community settings in order to sustain placement in the natural environment. This position will develop individualized treatment plans with the family and monitor client progress toward goals. The BCABA will supervise the implementation of behavioral assessment measures functional behavioral assessment and treatment plan implementation. The BCABA will provide consultation to BHTABA providing ABA and other involved adults in the planning design and implementation of the treatment plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with all team members.
  • Develop behavior/treatment plans and/or crisis plans with the child family and team that are developmentally appropriate and strengthsbased.
  • Develop appropriate behavioral data collection systems such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of treatment plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives.
  • Graph clinical data on active treatment goals to monitor progress and facilitate any changes that need to be made to programming.
  • Utilize clinical outcome measures and individualized data collected regularly to graph monitor progress update treatment plan interventions and develop discharge/aftercare plans.
  • If applicable support all assigned BHTABA in implementing designed ABA programs by providing a minimum of monthly case consultation and documenting all consultation encounters.
  • Attend interagency meetings to coordinate the design of treatment plans and wraparound service recommendations.
  • Complete all required documentation in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Participate in identifying discharge planning and discharge planning goals for children and families.
  • Travel to a variety of education and/or home environments to provide services in the clients environment.
  • Ensure compliance with CFA/PHMCs policies and procedures including confidentiality and mandated reporting.
  • Provide clinical information to the evaluating psychologist/psychiatrist as required or requested.
  • Attend and participate in meetings training programs and supervision as required by PHMC and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Staff Leadership

  • Foster a strengthsbased traumainformed accountable committed and motivated environment.
  • Establish and hold direct reports responsible for creating a climate that attracts retains and motivates high performance.
  • Ensure the caliber of diverse staff with skills appropriate to meet the needs of those served.
  • Provide and hold staff responsible for completing staff performance evaluations as expected and provide constructive supervision for all direct reports including ongoing performance feedback.
  • Model PHMCs core competencies holding staff accountable to do the same.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports to ensure a core team that is focused on meeting the priorities of the program.

Team Leadership

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cooperate and communicate as a multidisciplinary staff team member through formal meetings informal consultations and committee participation.
  • Model traits of a responsible team member executing job responsibilities open communication good follow through; supports team members to do the same.
  • Demonstrate use and support of the traumainformed model in all aspects of employment including interactions with clients/students family members other employees community members and stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to the concerns and interests of the clients parents guardians funding entities and other CFA/PHMC staff.

Partnerships and Collaborative Relationships

  • Establish and maintain relationships with provider organizations regulatory and licensing representatives and referral sources establishing effective and productive working relationships while promoting CFA/PHMC.
  • Represent the organization before various stakeholder groups to maintain visibility.
  • Manage regulatory and accreditation contracts.
  • Serve on participate in and attend various committee meetings.

Contributing to the Team

TraumaInformed Behavior

  • Demonstrate commitment to being traumainformed and maintaining a therapeutic environment and community that promotes safety and nonviolence as the basis for all we do with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of traumainformed practices including emotional intelligence effective communication understanding of the impact of trauma on development strengthsbased and personcentered practice resilience focus and commitment to growth and change.

Administrative Activities

  • Ensure compliance with all CFA/PHMCs policies and procedures including confidentiality and acting as a mandated reporter in accordance with the law policies and procedures.
  • Implement all documentation requirements reports are complete thorough timely and written in the prescribed format. Ensure that staff members do the same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

  • Preferred but not required: One year of supervisory experience
  • Strong Applied Behavior Analysis skills
  • Significant experience writing Positive Behavior support plans and conducting FBAs
  • Strong skills in data collection
  • Ability to utilize a collaborative teamoriented approach
  • Knowledge and understanding of CASSP Principles
  • Understanding of child and family development
  • Crisis intervention and management
  • Knowledge of DSM5
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of common psychotropic medications
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to be adaptable/flexible and change activities quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint Access etc. and database management
  • Preferred: Valid drivers license

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist professional counselor marriage and family therapist clinical social worker social worker behavior specialist certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services and have one of the following:

  • A certification as a BCaBA or other undergraduatelevel certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute
  • A minimum of 1 year of fulltime experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the equivalent from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services
  • A minimum of 1 year of fulltime experience providing ABA services under the supervision of a professional with a certification as a BCBA or other graduatelevel certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABAapproved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

CLEARANCES: Pennsylvania state criminal history report Pennsylvania child abuse clearance and FBI criminal history report

SALARY GRADE: 19
