Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregons most vulnerable children and families. Your dedication will help us achieve the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation that will support children and young adults to be safer healthier experience less trauma and achieve a greater wellbeing.
As a Family Time Coordinator you will:
Ensure childrens safety and wellbeing during visits and transport addressing any issues and documenting outcomes.
Provide transportation support for children and others associated with the case supporting their emotional needs.
Keep accurate records prepare court notes provide feedback to service workers and participate in meetings and conferences.
Implement and manage individual visitation agreements and safety plans by coordinating by coordinating with case workers clients and caregivers.
Plan visit schedules locations supervision levels and safety measures using information from various sources.
Review and explain visitation agreements and guidelines to clients family members and caregivers.
Communicate visitation expectations and respond to postvisit inquiries from caregivers and family members. The duties in this position include working with challenging and sometimes hostile clients.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
One year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services children services senior services mental or developmental disability services substance abuse programs juvenile corrections programs or occupational skills programs; or
Possession of a current certification in Child Development Early Childhood Education Addiction Counseling Preparation or Juvenile Corrections; or
45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology psychology early childhood education criminal justice human services juvenile corrections or occupational skills training; or
An associate degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging mental or physical disabilities juvenile prevention health cultural competencies and/or inadequate housing).

Demonstrated experience to work well with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Experience in articulating observations and communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Working Conditions
Your work will be conducted in offices participants homes and other community sites. This is an inperson position.
Occasional travel is required for attending meetings trainings and other case related activities.
Some travel may be in hazardous weather conditions.
Employee will work a professional work week of Monday Friday 9 AM to 6 PM. However during the training period the shift will be 8 AM to 5 PM transitioning to the 9 AM to 6 PM schedule once training is complete.
Work may fluctuate based on service needs. Occasional compensated overtime may be required including evening and weekend work.
In this role you will encounter sensitive material related to trauma abuse substance use and crisis situations. Our team prioritizes a traumainformed approach creating a safe environment for both clients and staff.
You will interact with a diverse range of individuals including those who have experienced trauma and may struggle with emotional regulation. This position may involve handling stressful situations that demand rapid decisionmaking skills.
The duties in this position include working with challenging and sometimes hostile clients.
This position requires frequent activity including climbing stairs walking on uneven terrain assisting children into and out of car seats this may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
This position requires a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprintbased criminal records check.
