Temporary Nanny/Family Assistant Job Opportunity in Falls Church
A loving family relocating to Arlington VA is seeking an experienced and compassionate nanny/family assistant to provide care and support for their 2yearold son. This is a temporary position with a parttime schedule of 5hour shifts 4 days a week. There is flexibility with timing except on Tuesdays when hours are 4:15PM 8:15PM. The family would enjoy weekend care as needed. This temporary position is ideal for someone who enjoys nurturing young children supporting their emotional growth and contributing to a smoothly running household
The family is looking for a nanny that is able to emphasize understanding their sons feelings and emotions while gently explaining behaviors. Their son thrives with an energetic playful and kind caregiver who can engage with him in a nurturing and interactive manner. He loves spending time outdoors and the family is seeking a nanny who is comfortable taking him for walks to the park or playground.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive and engaging care for the 2yearold fostering a supportive and positive environment.
Plan and participate in engaging ageappropriate activities that align with the familys preferences and values.
Work collaboratively with parents who will provide guidance and plan some activities and learning opportunities to ensure the childs daily routine reflects their developmental goals and household values.
Follow parental preferences regarding dietary guidelines such as avoiding sweets like cookies or cake.
Prioritize educational and developmental activities such as reading books practicing numbers and letters and engaging in structured learning experiences designed in collaboration with the parents.
Incorporate indoor and outdoor play to support physical mental and emotional growth.
Prepare meals and snacks for the child and assist with meal preparation for the family.
Assist with household tasks including organizing managing laundry and maintaining a tidy play area. Recurring household tasks such as dishes taking out the trash and occasional tasks such as setting up a household appliance (such as a blender).
Communicate effectively with the parents to ensure continuity in care and alignment with parenting style.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of verified experience caring for toddlers in a professional setting is required.
Energetic kind and patient demeanor.
Ability to align with attachmentstyle parenting principles.
Comfortable spending time outdoors and walking to local parks or playgrounds.
Reliable organized and able to manage light household tasks.
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Compensation
$25/hour
