What youll do:
The Compliance Advisor reports to the Fair & Responsible Banking Director and will assist in the development and implementation of CIBCs UDAAP Program. The Compliance Advisor is responsible for executing the banks UDAAP Compliance Program and ensuring compliance oversight and support to lines of business and operational areas.
How youll succeed:
- Completing ongoing UDAAP risk assessments considering all applicable products and services across the product lifecycle from marketing to loss mitigation and assessing applicable compliance requirements for the comprehensive Compliance Risk Assessment.
- Developing and maintaining all UDAAP related policies standards and procedures that are commensurate with the size and complexity of the organization and remain current and reflective of regulatory requirements and organizational processes.
- Identifying UDAAP and other related compliance risks for new and existing business activities including but not limited to marketing campaigns loan and deposit initiatives account disclosure reviews and servicing and collections.
- Advising the lines of business and operational areas on UDAAP issues and emerging risks including regulatory and business changes resolution of deficiencies and managing associated internal and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Ensure that business owned policies standards and procedures for managing UDAAP compliance are developed and maintained.
- Communicate a culture of compliance through building partnerships and identifying opportunities to reinforce an effective CMS.
- Preparing Board and management reporting on applicable program components and metrics.
- Assist in the coordination of audit and exam materials.
Who you are:
- Expert knowledge of all consumer protection laws regulations and guidance with particular expertise in the FTCs Section 5 rule regarding UDAP and the CFPBs rules and regulations for UDAAP.
- 6 years experience in regulatory compliance CRCM and/or JD with a Bachelors Degree.
- Ability to evaluate controls conduct impact assessments identify control gaps remediate risk and navigate resolution of potential competing objectives.
- Strong relationship management skills including engaging stakeholders persuading others and resolving conflict.
- Skilled in gathering accurate information to explain complex concepts and presenting information to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communications and leadership skills in acting as a trusted advisor across all lines of defense.
- Effective people and project management skills to lead and contribute to projects.
- Strong research analysis problemsolving and decisionmaking skills with ability to identify compliance risks and issues for escalation to management as necessary.
- Ability to manage workload and shift priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic and rapidlychanging environment.
- Advanced Excel Word and PowerPoint skills.
- Working knowledge of effective dashboard reporting using data visualization tools is a plus.

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $95000 $11700 for the market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
