Overview
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Outreach Leadto join the 1625 Outreach Service.
1625 Outreach is no normal drug and alcohol service. It is an innovative and forwardthinking project with a proven track record of effectively engaging young people and young adults.
Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction we provide nonjudgmental factbased information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks.
We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices to keep themselves and their peers aware safe and well when it comes to /alcohol.
Where: Sheffield
Hours: 37.5 per week (full time including evenings & weekends)
Salary: 27861.26 to 32002.35 depending on experience (based on full time working hours pro rata for part time)
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Working with those aged 16 to 25 you will lead the services work across the community in Sheffield coordinating & facilitating detached outreach with young people and young adults in areas of concern (e.g. parks town/city centres estates etc).
- Building & maintaining relationships with key communitybased partners and stakeholders is a big part of the role you will spend time networking and developing the trust of our partners/stakeholders in the service/organisation but most importantly their trust in you as a practitioner. You will also work closely with the rest of the team facilitating interventions at organised events like music festivals freshers and pride as well as supporting training for professionals within the night time economy.
- Additionally our service volunteers & students on placement will support you in return you will provide them with guidance and supervision as they develop their skills and experience.
- Addressing emerging needs is paramount when working with young people and young adults in this setting. You will need to expect the unexpected dont worry though you will experience a lot of fun and enjoyment in this role!
About you:
- Considerable knowledge & experience of working with young people and/or young adults ideally from experience of working within a community service setting e.g. youth work drug & alcohol mental health sexual health community safety.
- Knowledge of the issues faced by young people & young adults 1625s) with working knowledge of safeguarding & professional accountability.
- A good understanding of local support services relevant to young people & young adults.
- Knowledge of risk & working in a risk informed way with an awareness of personal safety.
- Working knowledge of alcohol & harm reducaton relevant to the age range (e.g. cannabis MDMA Ketamine NOS etc).
- Great communicator (verbal & written).
- Flexible team player confident & energentic!

Fulltime hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For parttime roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
