ONA is seeking to hire a Dues and Membership Processing Clerk for our Toronto office. Reporting to the Manager Dues & Membership (membership records) the Dues Processing Clerk is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of dues revenue submissions while also supporting member job record maintenance as well as a variety of stakeholders needs in a fastpaced environment.
This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role:
- Accurately track reconcile and process dues revenue submissions by employers and other receivables (e.g. grievance settlement amounts). Taking appropriate action regarding payment issues.
- Ensure the correct recording and distribution of dues payments to the appropriate member job and payment history.
- Ensures payment details received are compliant with collective agreement expectations and appropriate followup is carried out.
- Provides support for the accurate and timely maintenance of members job record details and membership entitlements.
- Provides backup support for the overall work of the Dues & Membership team.
- Timely maintenance of applicable logs documents and tracking tools.
- Supports requests from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Involved in information system development initiatives system upgrade testing report development and various quality assurance work as it relates to accuracy processing and reporting of dues payment receipts.
- Support and educate stakeholders (staff and elected union representatives) as it relates to dues and membership information e.g. how to access use interpret and apply available dues and member information.

What we are looking for:
This role is best suited to an individual who is familiar with processing dues revenue submissions with strong communication skills to support missing or incomplete submissions. The role requires strong reconciliation analytical skills with a firm emphasis on accuracy and attention to details within a highvolume environment. ONA is investing in new technologies and systems applications and is looking for an individual that can work well in a changing environment.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Postsecondary diploma in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum two 2 to three 3 years of relevant experience in revenue or payment processing and record detail maintenance ideally in a membership or clientbased organization.
- Two 2 to three 3 years customer services experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in a unionized labour relations environment is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and demonstrated experience in revenue or receivables processing in a database application. Experience in Dynamics/CRM systems is a definite asset.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage various assignments within the established timelines. Carries out assigned duties in accordance with established standards and policies. Ensuring a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible individual who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Solutionoriented thinker able to resolve complex challenges or issues with reasoned decisions in a timely and productive manner.
- Proficiency in English is required with strong oral and written skills.
- French bilingual is considered an asset.
