Job Description

As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient health problems, administering nursing care to ill, disabled, convalescent, or injured patients, maintaining vital medical records, implementing nursing care plans, advising patients on health maintenance, and providing guidance about preventative services, such as health screenings and medications.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
  • Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  • Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Administering non-intravenous medications.
  • Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  • Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Registered Nurse license required or if new graduate, offer contingent on passing NCLEX
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)- (Accredited through American Heart Association) required
  • Graduate of school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree or diploma
  • Bachelors (BSN) Degree Preferred
  • National Certification is area of practice preferred
  • Member of national professional organization preferred
  • Previous hospital/acute care experience preferred
