Student Counsellor

 To develop an effective methodology for student counselling, and work collaboratively inside and

outside the College with the purpose of improving counselling tools and processes on a permanent

basis.

 To assist in the creation of policies and associated documentation related to student counselling,

including self-help materials.

 Acting as a key liaison between the students seeking counselling and the relevant members of the

College.

 Maintain high standards of service and work within the best ethical standards of good practice.

 To take an active role in raising awareness about the importance of student counselling, through

participation in student inductions, workshops and other events.

 To develop and maintain an effective referral system, i.e. a list of situations and a network of people

(academics and other professionals) that students should be referred to when such situations occur.

 To keep a system of concise and confidential records in line with the policies of the College, and

professionally manage confidentiality.

 To analyze the data collected and produce reports regarding access to the service, and make

recommendations as appropriate.
