Job Description
• Install, configure and maintain databases including Always On Availability Groups and Active-Active failover clustering implementations
• Oversee and troubleshoots DB upgrade activities including the implementation of hotfixes and service packs
• Engage with Disaster recovery activities
• Conduct administration activities - database health check, DMV queries, index optimization, performance tuning, query optimization, maintenance plans, link servers, etc. Use DMV to improve performance and monitoring.
• Extensive use of Microsoft backup methodologies, their implementation via GUI as well as scripts. Setup and schedule backups, create and schedule jobs, alerts and operators using SQL Server Agent as well as database restores
