Job Description
- Monitoring and assessing student progress adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Developing and adapting lesson plans to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities.
- Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a structured supportive learning environment.
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress.
- Providing direct instruction in small group or oneonone settings based on students IEP goals.
- Maintaining accurate and uptodate records for IEP documentation and student performance.
- Collaborating with support staff such as speech and occupational therapists to integrate specialized services.
Requirements
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
- Patience empathy and a passion for working with students with diverse needs.
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education with LBS1 endorsement.
