Description
- The Manager Production Planning will oversee and optimize the production planning process to ensure smooth efficient and timely operations.
- Manage a team of Production Planners to schedule materials flow through manufacturing and meet short and longterm goals driven by ERP/SAP systems.
- Develop and manage production budgets aiming to minimize costs while maintaining product quality.
- Analyze production costs and variances identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques and other methodologies to streamline production.
- Establish production rates and inventory levels ensuring ontime delivery of customer orders and optimal utilization of resources.
- Control inventory levels to minimize shortages excess and obsolete inventory while maximizing customer service and inventory accuracy.
- Manage Production Planning and Inventory management reporting functions.
- Assess and plan for production capacity across various production environments.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Industrial Engineering Operations or a related field.
- 57 years (Manager) or 710 years (Senior Manager) of progressively responsible materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in production planning scheduling or a similar role within a manufacturing and machine shop environment.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in production planning software and ERP/SAP systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing MRP JIT and TQM processes and concepts.
- APICS and/or Supply Chain certification is a plus.
