Knowesis is currently seeking a Decision Support Analyst to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Research and Engineering (R&E) Directorate Science & Technology Enterprise Integration Division (STEID). This is a hybrid position in Silver Spring MD.
This position requires a Public Trust and requires U.S. Citizenship (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the positions security clearance requirement).
Job Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serves as a Decision Support Analyst for the division supporting leadership decisionmaking in the oversight of biomedical research programs by performing research data analysis and formulating recommendations.
- Executes analytical tasks that enable rigorous strategic financial and programmatic oversight and management of a military medical S&T research Portfolio.
- Independently researches and consolidates information and data into cohesive and understandable reports presentations or graphics for use in management decisionmaking to convey findings to senior leadership internal and external stakeholders.
- Creates effective data visualizations to display results of data analyses to support decisionmaking.
- Edits documents graphics and website content to strategically communicate the divisions program directions and successes including edits to ensure 508a compliance.
- Consults with leadership and other directorate personnel regarding current operational procedures and challenges in program and business processes providing recommendations for improvements and assists with implementing improvements.
- Responsible for developing professional briefings templates and documents to support the organizations needs and activities.
- Defines and documents client business functions and processes in an easily understandable format.
- Supports operational and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daytoday division operations.
- Creates and manages teams and channels in MS Teams to support team collaboration and coordination.
- Coordinates with team members to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively adhering to all deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing analytical support to federal or Department of Defense senior scientists senior leaders and/or research programs.
- Minimum of 3 years professional work experience performing policy and/or data analysis.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- Demonstrated data analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating data visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Excel Power BI or Tableau.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook MS Teams Word PowerPoint Excel SharePoint).
- Highly organized extremely detailoriented with efficient time management skills and multitasking capabilities; can handle multiple and parallel projects in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to depict complex systems and processes in logical comprehensive concise reports presentations or graphics.
- High degree of professionalism including ensuring that products and communications are technically accurate and of professional quality and demonstrating an understanding of protocols for appropriate communications with senior leaders internal and external stakeholders and colleagues in a Department of Defense agency environment.
- Ability to develop innovative creative approaches to meet novel needs and/or solve problems.
- Must work effectively and positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Takes initiative in identifying and accomplishing needed tasks promptly.
- Adaptable and flexible in a changing federal work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Department of Defense work experience
- Experience supporting a federal or Department of Defense research and development program
- Familiarity with 508 compliance requirements
