The following position is to join our BBN team:

For over 70 years scientists and engineers in diverse disciplines at RTX BBN Technologies have collaborated to solve realworld problems through research exploration development and prototyping. We challenge the status quo pioneer new technologies and create transformative solutions.

We are seeking a Control Systems and Signal Processing Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a stones throw from seaside Newport Rhode Island. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to developing and evaluating signal processing and control algorithms in MATLAB prototyping new capabilities and evaluating performance in simulation analyzing data from real systems and supporting evaluation and test both inlab and in the field. The ideal candidate enjoys a multidisciplinary role and is comfortable adapting to and identifying new technologies as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement control systems signal processing. and physical system representations primarily in MATLAB and SIMULINK.
  • Lead research and development in technical areas including supporting proposal and program planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with a crossfunctional team testing your contributions and analyzing performance.
  • Integrate components you develop into a larger system in preparation for real world testing and deployment.
  • Participate in system testing (onsite and at our customers sites) associated data analysis and reporting.
  • Author technical reports.
  • Make a difference to our national defense.
  • Position may require some amount of overnight travel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering Electrical/Computer Engineering Physics or relevant discipline; plus 8 years of experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Algorithm development experience in MATLAB or Python.
  • Physical system modeling experience (SIMULINK preferred).
  • Experience with signal processing in application and data processing and analysis.
  • Experience implementing realtime control system and signal processing algorithms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Simulink and MATLAB experience
  • Experience with realtime signal processing systems
  • C programming experience
  • Linux experience

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
