Job Description

What will you do as a Shift Leader

Our Shift Leaders have first line responsibility for terminal operations at our Darwin terminal. Supported by one other Operator and casual operators as needed you will ensure all operations and some minor maintenance activities are conducted to the highest safety standards in accordance with Vopaks standards and procedures and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager this role is critical to the successful operation of our terminal and ongoing future success. You will plan supervise and delegate all shift activities including maintenance activities respond to equipment fault or failure when they occur ensure appropriate documentation and reporting is completed mentor train and sign off less experienced team members and ensure they are competent in all aspects of terminal operations.

What do we expect from you as a Shift Leader

Relevant Petrochemical/Shipping industry experience is required

Experience in major hazard facility environment

Experience with a process plant environment

Experience leading a team through effective communication and supervision

Experience in managing safety incidents and hazard identification

Experience in training and developing others

Trade qualifications would be preferred
