The Role & Key Responsibilities
Head of Data & Analytics (commensurate with experience) is responsible for the strategy & of data & analytics across Jora with a focus on;
People Team & Culture Leadership
Building a strong team culture where unblocking business stakeholders with highquality data & insights and where team cohesion & outcomes are valued greater than individual contributions.
Leading & further strengthening an established highperforming team with continuous coaching on best practise data & analytics raising the profile of this team in the org.
Data Strategy/Vision & Practice Leadership
Setting an inspiring vision for how the digital analytics function will partner with support & unblock the broader Jora team with data & insights
Leading the delivery of the data & analytics vision at Jora (design planning implementation and optimisation) through strong leadership of the dataengineering & datascience teams to design plan and implement effective datatracking storage pipelining enrichment and BI tools
Being a strong advocate for driving the best customer outcomes with datainformed decision making within the business
Data Engineering
Taking a handson approach to leading our dataengineering team to establish optimise and scale our data pipelines ETL processes data warehouse management data models reverse ETL services ML Dev Ops.
Product Analytics
Taking a handson approach to leading our product analytics team to establish & strengthen a close partnership with business stakeholders enabling seamless data informed/driven decision making with easy selfserve access to accurate and meaningful product data & insights and also expert guidance & capability.
Data Science
Taking a handson approach to leading our data science team to raise awareness and adoption of ML supported product & services and embedded experimentational frameworks with math & stats support to build confidence in results.
You will work closely with other functional leaders to design plan and execute quarterly OKRs and proactively inspire and motivate your team and the broader delivery teams
Essential skills and experience
Ideally 5 years in data & analytics ideally in all three areas of data engineering product analytics & data science.
Ideally 3 of those being leadership (leading a team of analysts engineers and/or scientists and contributing to building/strengthening an analytics practice)
High level of comfort with ambiguity and can drive progress through an agile test & learn mindset.
Deep knowledge & capabilities in product analytics and key tools we use (E.g. SQL/Python Redshift GA4 Sisense/Tableau Branch Braze Google Ads Google AdSense)
Exceptional judgment and decisionmaking skills able to prioritise the critical few things to achieve real impact.
Strong SQL (and ideally Python/R) competence is required together with a demonstrated ability to manage large complex and possibly incomplete or sparsely documented data sets.
Strong experience with math & statistics Designing & implementing multivariant experiments calculating statistical significance & familiarisation with Python/R to leverage existing libraries to drive confidence in analyses
Confident understanding of different database systems and their capabilities. Able to contribute and lead technical discussions with engineers on database capabilities and design and optimize queries.
Models compelling and effective insights communication. Rather than just seeing numbers you see the overall story and can share that insight with stakeholders from different levels of seniority and domains.
Able to selfmanage multiple priorities and initiatives and help others to do the same identifying tradeoffs and communicating proactively. .
Strong communication skills that enable you to collaborate across multiple functions and teams. Able to build rapport identify needs deliver proposals and constructively challenge our thinking.
Proven experience working with integrated product delivery teams using agile practices
Proven ability to influence business outcomes via influence relationships and effective communication with stakeholders.
Solid writing and visual communication skills with an engaging presentation style.
Experience with B2C products preferable
Ideally experience with Databricks & AWS
