Job Description
About the Role:
The Director of Infrastructure Engineering will oversee the vision design implementation and operations of critical technology solutions for IT Infrastructure to ensure enterprisewide optimization security and compliance. This role involves guiding technological transformations ensuring the implementation of organizational policies and SLAs and fostering innovation across platforms while driving efficiencies through automation. The successful candidate will manage teams responsible for maintaining high network security system reliability and disaster recovery standards while aligning with industry standards such as NIST ISO 27001 HIPAA and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technological Transformation and Optimization:
Oversee the technological roadmap and transformation strategies ensuring alignment with the organizations strategic goals.
Foster innovation by developing a culture of continuous improvement challenging status quo and rapid prototyping to develop scalable solutions
Adoption of emerging technologies while demonstrating business value.
Optimizing platforms across the enterprise and driving system efficiencies through automation and process streamlining.
Ensure adherence to enterprisewide security and compliance protocols.
Leadership and Strategy:
Create vision for nextgeneration IT infrastructure with migration plans to bestinclass architecture to support business scalability goals.
Lead crossfunctional teams responsible for integrating and managing technology solutions such as Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cisco ISE Ring Central Juniper MIST Simpplr and CrowdStrike.
Supervise technology stack overhauls including onpremise and cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability security and resilience.
Guide the creation and of organizational policies and SLAs focusing on system reliability disaster recovery and process efficiency.
Vendor management and contract negotiation.
Compliance and Security:
Develop preserve and execute Policies and Standards ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR SOX).
Ensure all systems are secure compliant and regularly audited for vulnerabilities optimizing security across the network infrastructure.
Lead the disaster recovery strategy ensuring business continuity through effective endpoint data management backup strategies and restoration processes.
Implement and maintain all Services under remit based on Secure by Design principles.
Support Incident Response team as infrastructure SME.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with senior leadership to align infrastructure goals with business needs. Minimize or avoid disruption to business operations during planned infrastructure changes.
Work across technical domains to enable productivity for software development teams including support for application hosting and infrastructureascode solutions.
Engage with vendors ensuring costeffective solutions and continuous technological improvements optimizing shared infrastructure where appropriate.
Mentor and lead engineering teams to drive performance engagement and professional development.
Contribute thought leadership to the development of technology strategy and solutions across multiple technical and business functions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering or related fields with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
- Strong domain specific expertise:
- Implementing and managing network infrastructure cloud infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions.
- Managing data center operations for virtual and data systems.
- Managing DevOps and AWS cloud technologies and operations.
- Leading transformation to Softwaredefined / Zerotrust architectures.
- Driving automation and process efficiencies in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience in implementing security best practices supporting technology based on strong engineering rigor.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NIST ISO 27001 HIPAA SOX CCPA and GDPR. Preference for healthcare/biotech industry experience.
- Familiarity with support for High Performance Computing technologies and operations.
- Experience of integrations with external systems eg through joint ventures partnerships or M&A
- Experience of operating in a highgrowth public company while maintaining quality and scalability in solution implementations.
Additional Information :
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health we have defined days for inperson/onsite collaboration and workfromhome days for individualfocused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled inoffice days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant our work model has created flexibility for better worklife balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.
For positions based in Palo Alto CA or Redwood City CA the base salary range for this fulltime position is $214600 to $295050. The range does not include benefits and if applicable bonus commission or equity.
Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including but not limited to jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however there may be exposure to high noise levels fumes and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
