Job Description
Overview
The SAP ABAP Consultant with expertise in Core Data Services (CDS) and OData is integral to our organization playing a critical role in the design development and implementation of innovative solutions leveraging SAP technology. This role necessitates a strong understanding of ABAP programming and the associated tools as well as the ability to create highquality applications that meet business requirements. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and enhance overall system functionalities. As an expert in technical development the consultant will leverage SAPs latest capabilities to create efficient and effective solutions that drive business success. The position also involves collaboration with crossfunctional teams ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business needs while adhering to best practices in software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain ABAP programs tailored to business requirements.
- Create and manage Core Data Services (CDS) views for efficient data retrieval.
- Develop and consume OData services to support SAP applications.
- Perform data modeling and optimization for enhanced performance.
- Collaborate with functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Implement development best practices ensuring code quality and maintainability.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to resolve issues.
- Participate in deployment activities and provide ongoing support.
- Optimize existing ABAP programs to improve performance and efficiency.
- Document technical specifications and maintain knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and contribute to best practices.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
- Work with SAP modules (e.g. FI CO MM) for integration purposes.
- Participate in design workshops and contribute to solution architecture.
- Review and enhance system security and compliance measures.
- Work collaboratively in an Agile environment participating actively in sprints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS) and OData services.
- Proficiency in data modeling and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with SAP UI5 and Fiori applications is a plus.
- Solid understanding of various SAP modules particularly FI CO and MM.
- Experience with SAP development tools like Eclipse and HANA Studio.
- Knowledge of Objectoriented programming concepts in ABAP.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in Agile methodology and project management.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA and analytics solutions is advantageous.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Certifications in SAP ABAP or related areas will be considered a plus.
