Job Description
VACANCY: Junior IT Technician.
REPORTING TO: IT Manager.
LOCATION: South Africa Durban.
SAF Aerogroup has a requirement for a detailoriented problemsolving and analytical individual to fill the position of a Junior IT Technician. The role will be based in Durban South Africa.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Support: Provide firstline support to users resolving technical issues related to hardware software and network systems.
- Installation and Maintenance: Install configure and maintain computer hardware software and networking equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems promptly and effectively.
- Network Administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) and ensure enduser connectivity.
- Documentation: Maintain records of IT assets update technical documentation and log resolved issues.
- User Training: Provide guidance and training to endusers on system functionality security and best practices.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENT:
- Excellent Communications skills.
- Problemsolving abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Windows Mac and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office software.
- Knowledge of network configurations protocols and equipment (routers switches etc..
- Experience with IT troubleshooting tools and remote support applications.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Strong Administration skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- A Certification Network or other IT certifications (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
