Job Description

Job Title: Senior Crypto Compliance Officer

About Company:

The company is a liquidity and technology provider of solutions for the crypto and foreign exchange (FX) industry. The company specializes in the sphere of B2B services and products catering to a wide range of clients including large licensed brokers crypto exchanges crypto brokers forex brokers hedge and crypto funds and professional managers.

Key Responsibilities:

CryptoSpecific Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to FATF guidelines EU AML Directives SEC/CFTC crypto regulations and other global frameworks governing crypto exchanges custodians and token issuers.
    • Serve as the primary compliance contact for cryptorelated licensing applications regulatory reporting and audits.
    • Keep track of evolving regulations affecting the crypto industry including stablecoins NFTs DeFi and crypto derivatives.

    KYC/KYB & Crypto AML Processes:

    • Oversee KYC/KYB for crypto exchanges institutional clients and highrisk individuals ensuring compliance with multijurisdictional AML/CFT laws.
    • Design and manage onchain analytics processes utilizing blockchain forensic tools (e.g. Chainalysis Elliptic TRM Labs) for transaction monitoring.
    • Implement enhanced due diligence (EDD) protocols for highrisk crypto transactions VASPs (Virtual Asset Service Providers) and crossborder transfers.
    • Enforce the FATF Travel Rule ensuring compliant datasharing for crypto transactions between exchanges and counterparties.

    Risk Management & Transaction Monitoring:

    • Develop and enhance realtime crypto transaction monitoring frameworks integrating riskbased alerts for money laundering fraud and illicit finance.
    • Oversee suspicious activity reporting (SAR/STR) processes for crypto transactions escalating cases to relevant financial intelligence units (FIUs).
    • Assess the risks associated with DeFi protocols smart contracts and decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to align with evolving compliance standards.

    Regulatory Engagement & Internal Governance:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for crypto regulators financial authorities and law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions.
    • Lead the crypto licensing process ensuring the company meets regulatory requirements for crypto trading custody services and token offerings.
    • Design and maintain internal policies regulatory reports and compliance manuals tailored to cryptospecific risks and challenges.
    • Represent the company in regulatory discussions industry forums and compliance summits to shape the evolving crypto compliance landscape.

    Compliance Automation & System Enhancements:

    • Collaborate with tech teams to enhance KYC automation blockchain monitoring and Aldriven compliance solutions.
    • Optimize AML software smart contract risk assessments and wallet riskscoring mechanisms for crypto transactions.
    • Implement realtime sanctions screening for crypto wallets and addresses ensuring compliance with OFAC EU and UN sanction lists.

      Qualifications:

      • Education: Bachelors degree in Law Finance Business Administration or a related field. Certifications such as CAMS ICA CRCM or equivalent are preferred.
      • Experience: Minimum 5 years in crypto compliance AML or regulatory affairs with a strong background in multijurisdictional compliance.
      • Regulatory Expertise: Proven knowledge of FATF Travel Rule SEC/CFTC crypto regulations and AMLD frameworks.
      • Technical Proficiency: Experience with blockchain forensic tools (Chainalysis Crystal Elliptic) AML software crypto wallet risk scoring and/or Salesforce.
      • Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to analyze blockchain transactions detect illicit activities and communicate findings effectively to regulators and internal stakeholders.

        Key Competencies:

        • Crypto Regulatory Awareness: Indepth understanding of crypto licensing requirements DeFi compliance and virtual asset regulations.
        • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement crypto compliance strategies aligned with evolving global regulations.

        • TechSavvy Approach: Familiarity with blockchain technology crypto trading platforms and smart contract compliance.
        • Team Collaboration: Ability to work crossfunctionally with legal tech risk and finance teams in a fastpaced crypto environment.
