Job Description

The role of Strategy & Alignment Manager reports directly to Chief of Staff and is responsible for orchestrating a complex and fastmoving set of meetings and activities across our International Operated Markets (IOM) segment. This important area of our business covers all owned McDonalds markets outside of the US accounting for one third of worldwide sales. The Segment is as diverse as it is successful including 5 large markets (Canada France Germany UK&I Australia) and 11 smaller but rapidly growing markets in Europe. 

Led by the President of IOM the IOM Segment consists of a dedicated team that supports the work of Managing Directors and their market leadership teams in maximising their growth and success. The operations of this segment team are coordinated by Chief of Staff for IOM President.

As the Strategy & Alignment Manager you will make a considerable contribution to the teams success through organising and accelerating the work of the Segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and coordination of segment led strategic engagements (IOM strategic planning segment visits to markets segment leadership sessions and team buildings).
  2. Ongoing collaboration with market and global Strategy & Insights teams to diagnose performance trends provide clarity on business drivers and identify opportunities for crossmarket collaboration.
  3. Partner with the segment and market leaders to calibrate on trends and insights and ensure an ongoing unified perspective on business dynamics challenges and opportunities across the segment.
  4. Responsible for the consistent flow of information and data into and out of the Segment including preparing key reports and prereads for leadership team (segment reports of the Board of Directors scripts / prereads for key global meetings weekly and monthly performance commentary etc).
  5. Building strong network among global segment and market stakeholders to improve connectivity and availability of information to provide decision support.
  6. Daytoday support and thought partnership to IOM Chief of Staff around adhoc business needs and engagements.

Qualifications :

Professional Experiences:

  • Highly numerical with analytical problemsolving skills and ability to interpret patterns and trends.
  • Proven experience in analysing data identifying trends telling stories and simplifying messages.
  • Experience with global analytical systems tools and research frameworks.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (Tableau and Power BI beneficial).

Personal Qualities:

  • Readiness to operate with limited guidance and build understanding of new functional areas.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with short timelines and evolving direction.
  • Very organized and capable of coordinating information and events across multiple markets with multiple stakeholders bringing and supporting structure and clarity.
  • Ability to build connections quickly and effectively across multiple time zones and cultures from a position of influence and collaboration rather than authority.

Good to Know: 

Our office is currently based in Shoreditch London. We will be moving to a new office in East Finchley North London from September 2025. Our new office location is well connected to public transport and will have onsite parking & EV charging facilities.
