Job Description
Devoteam Portugal is looking for experienced Mainframe Migration Specialists to join our nearshore team and support a mainframe exit initiative for a major French client. This project involves migrating legacy applications and databases from mainframe to a distributed infrastructure ensuring security scalability and operational efficiency.
Selected professionals will work closely with technical architects database specialists and infrastructure teams to drive a seamless migration while maintaining business continuity and service performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute legacy system migrations from mainframe to distributed infrastructure.
- Ensure security compliance with a strong focus on RACF security policies.
- Drive DBMS migration particularly DB2 to PostgreSQL.
- Implement and optimize middleware technologies and automation tools including OPCon scheduler.
- Define and refine deployment strategies parallelization (forking) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and validate the technical architecture including service levels and disaster recovery planning (PRA).
- Support both pilot and phases ensuring a structured migration approach.
Qualifications :
Minimum 4 years of experience in mainframe migration and modernization.
Strong knowledge of RACF security and legacy system security policies.
Proven expertise in DBMS migration especially DB2 to PostgreSQL.
Handson experience with middleware technologies and automation tools OPCon scheduler is a plus.
Deep understanding of technical architecture service level planning and PRA.
Advanced knowledge of deployment strategies parallelization (forking) and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment delivering results within strict deadlines.
NicetoHave:
Experience in mainframetodistributed infrastructure migrations.
Cloud migration experience AWS Azure Google Cloud.
Expertise in modernizing legacy applications.
