Position Summary 
We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to assist with research studies in the Toronto Lung Transplant Program (TLTP).  The CRCI will apply fundamental knowledge of research principles theories and concepts and be familiar with research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP TriCouncil Policy Declaration of Helsinki FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and regulatory issues. We are looking for an energetic patientoriented individual who thrives in a fastpaced clinical research environment. This role requires both research and patientfacing clinical experience.

Duties

  • Recruitment of study participants (e.g. identifying screening potential participants and obtaining informed consent)
  • Coordinate study visits and activities perform blood draws if necessary
  • Facilitate the submission of ethics applications study amendments and renewal documents
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient daytoday operation of research and data collection activities
  • Implementing and coordinating all aspects of data management including data collection data entry into CRFs and source documentation as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
  • Assist in the training of research staff including preparation and development of training documents
  • Participate in internal monitoring and quality assurance activities
  • Develop and document related operating policies and procedures

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or recognized equivalent in a health or sciencerelated discipline
  • 3 years clinical and/or professional experience
  • At least 1 year clinical research experience
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Applies knowledge of clinical research principles and practice
  • Applies knowledge of research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP guidelines TriCouncil Policy Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD as required
  • Applies knowledge of investigatordriven research processes budgeting contract review and mandatory reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  excellent  interpersonal skills excellent organization  and computer skills
  • Possess creative and  problemsolving skills with the ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Excellent prioritization skills  with the ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure  with great attention to detail
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality in accordance with UHN standards
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional is an asset
