TheDivision of Engineering Educationin the James McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a fulltime 9month nontenure eligible faculty position at the Lecturer rank to begin as early as January 2023. The lecturer will teach classes in the areas of technical writing and other communicationrelated classes. Some of the courses taught may include: Technical Writing Communication Tools for Academic and Professional Success in Engineering Presentation Skills Leadership and Team Building Reflective Writing in Medicine and Healthcare Engineering Ethics and Sustainability and Engineers in the Community. We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in technical communication and English language proficiency (ELP) and preferably writing center experience. In addition to teaching the lecturer will also participate and help in other activities in the Engineering Communication Center to support the educational mission.
Candidates should hold a BA/BS from an accredited program as well as an MA or PhD in English or an MFA in Writing or a degree in a related discipline. Candidates of diverse backgrounds are strongly encourage to apply and candidates with other degrees would be considered if they have prior teaching experience. Experience in course development is desired. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and the position is benefitseligible as per university guidelines.
