Manual QA Tester

The Role:

We are on the lookout fora detailoriented Manual QA Tester to support our Agile Scrum team in delivering highquality dashboards datadriven applications and system integrations. In this role you will plan and execute manual tests using QMetry for Jira ensuring that each product increment meets the Definition of Done (DoD) and customer expectations.

The QA Tester will work closely with developers product owners and business analysts to verify functionality identify defects and advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Design:

Analyze user stories acceptance criteria and business requirements to design robust test plans.

Use QMetry within Jira to create manage and organize test cases and test suites.

Collaborate with Product Owners and BAs to identify edge cases clarify requirements and ensure testability.

Define manual test strategies aligned with sprint goals and priorities.

Test & Verification:

Execute manual functional regression integration and exploratory tests.

Ensure all testing activities align with the Definition of Done (DoD) and project standards.

Validate data integrity UI/UX functionality and API integrationsespecially for dashboards and reporting modules.

Capture clear reproducible steps for any defects found.

Defect Management:

Log and track defects in Jira with detailed documentation and screenshots where necessary.

Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues assist in debugging and ensure timely resolution.

Verify fixes and regression test to confirm that resolved issues do not impact other areas of the application.

Scrum Team Collaboration:

Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning daily standups sprint reviews retrospectives).

Estimate QA efforts during sprint planning and refine stories for test coverage.

Communicate blockers risks and progress to the Scrum team in real time.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Advocacy:

Identify process improvements and areas for future automation to enhance testing efficiency.

Promote a qualityfirst mindset across the team.

Ensure performance usability and nonfunctional requirements are considered during testing.

Provide insights and suggestions during retrospectives for improving QA processes.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive test documentation in QMetry including test cases test results and traceability matrices.

Provide test summary reports with defect status test coverage and key metrics for each sprint.

Document lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

3 years of experience in manual QA testing within Agile/Scrum environments.

Handson experience with QMetry Test Management for Jira and Jira issue tracking.

Strong understanding of software QA methodologies testing types and defect lifecycle.

Experience testing webbased applications dashboards APIs and data integrations.

Ability to understand dataheavy applications and validate data accuracy in reports.

Excellent attention to detail analytical skills and clear communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to testing data visualization tools or reporting systems.

Experience collaborating with frontend backend and data engineering teams.

Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g. Postman) and basic SQL knowledge for data validation.

Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards and usability testing.

Exposure to or interest in test automation strategies (though this is primarily a manual QA role).
