Job Description

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager the Engineering Manager is an integral part of the Site Management Team and is responsible for ensuring that the Plant assets are managed and maintained through leading a team of Engineers (mechanical and electrical). This role is pivotal in the ongoing operation of the site and includes building strong relationships across multiple disciplines and areas of the business.

The Engineering Manager ensures that all production departments experience minimal down time due to engineering and maintenance requirements. They are also responsible for working with the Group Engineering Manager and Improvement Engineers to facilitate and manage the install and commissioning of plant improvement projects.

Your strong communication and organisational skills will assist you in managing the variety of priorities and demands.  The ability to maintain a strong focus on cost and resource management and to prioritise expenditure decisions will ensure you continuously meet business objectives.

You will also provide confident leadership to an existing wellskilled engineering team.

To perform well in this position you will demonstrate the following:

  • Maintain and further develop the team culture that currently exists within the maintenance department.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on cost and resource management and have the ability to prioritise expenditure decisions.
  • Experience in a fastpaced manufacturing facility that has a strong focus on preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in hygienic food manufacturing enviroment.  
  • Experience in the use of a CMMS system (MEX preferable but not essential)
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking abilities with complementary skills in planning and good judgement.
  • Strong leadership style to drive positive outcomes.
  • A cando attitude and a handson approach to problem solving
  • A commitment to upholding the companys high standards of Health and Safety.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of communication skills both oral and written.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.

 


Qualifications :

Appropriate qualifications and/or experience in the engineering field.

Knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 is an advantage as is additional training courses such as confined space and wokring at heights training etc.

You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
