The Contra Costa Adult Continuum of Services (CCACS) program and the Contra Costa Youth Continuum of Services (CCYCS) is a public/private partnership with Contra Costa Health Services Homeless Program. Our mission is to provide safe interim housing with comprehensive services that assist homeless adults and Youth in securing permanent housing that will end their homelessness. We respect human dignity and believe housing is a right that is supported through advocacy and collaboration.
Salary: $21.00 $24.15 Hourly
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
- Tend and maintain physical structures in order to provide safe and efficient operation: including but not limited to: Repairing and replacing light fixtures plumbing fixtures and appliances performing minor electrical work painting and repairing walls and ceilings fixing locks and doors.
- Examine and test equipment components and parts to ensure proper functioning.
- Repair broken or defective equipment using proper tools and parts.
- Transfer tools parts equipment from workstations and other areas.
- Clean and maintain all shelter facilities including but not limited to: restrooms and showers kitchen and dining areas common areas and living spaces laundry facilities storage areas parking lot and shelter perimeter.
- Conduct regular inspections of the shelter facilities to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including work performed materials used and costs incurred
- Ensure that all work is done in accordance with safety protocols and regulations
- Travel within Contra Costa County for Program Site maintenance work.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of different types of repair tools their designs and uses.
- Public safety and security for people and property.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have vehicle tools and minimum of 5 years experience (with references)
- Strong attention to detail
- Cooperation with others in a positive manner
- Dependability responsibility and fulfillment of obligations
- Adaptability/flexibility to different work times and sites
- Independence and development of ones own way of doing things with little or no supervision
- Persistence in the face of obstacles
- Be able to do heavy lifting using proper tools (able to lift at least 50 pounds)
- Monitor and review information from materials events or environment to detect or assess problems
- Using hands and arms in handling installing positioning and moving materials
- Observing receiving and otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources
- Be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.
Education/Experience:
- AA degree preferred
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
Certificates/Licenses
- Valid CA Drivers license.
- Proof of insurance
- Drivers must have a clean record with no infraction/accidents and be 21 years of age or older
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual bicultural in Spanish.
- Lived experience of homelessness and/or accessing behavioral health services.
- Previous experience or training in street outreach and clinical case management.
- Knowledge of Contra Costa County and community resources.
- Knowledge of the Contra Costa emergency provider network.
- Prior experience with documentation and billing procedures.
