Our Energy Climate Change and Sustainability group is currently seeking to appoint a Principal Policy Officer to play a key leadership role in advancing renewable energy supply chains local content and economic development opportunities as part of the delivery of the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap (Roadmap). The Roadmap is a strategic priority of NSW Government.

Join a talented and committed team leading a onceinageneration upgrade of the NSW electricity network. TheElectricity Infrastructure Roadmap (Roadmap) sets out how we are going to transition the electricity network to one that will keep the lights on and put downward pressure on energy bills for years to come. Progress is well underway. We already have enough projects signed up to get us halfway to our renewable energy generation goal.

About the Role

Working closely with the Renewable Energy Sector Board and the crossGovernment Roadmap Steering Committee you will lead critical initiatives that shape policy and regulatory frameworks to support the sectors growth. The role also contributes to national discussions through the Energy and Climate Change Ministerial Council ensuring NSW remains aligned with broader renewable energy objectives.

This role is also responsible for guiding legislative and regulatory changes to the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 ensuring it effectively supports local content and supply chain development. Collaborating across the Energy Climate Change and Sustainability group and the wider government the Principal Policy Officer will drive policies that maximise local benefits and strengthen the renewable energy sectors longterm sustainability.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading the development and delivery of programs and policies that drive supply chain development and local content outcomes. You will bring strong experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders including industry workforce government and consumers to achieve these priority objectives.

Experience in developing and delivering energy market programs or policies from within Government is highly desirable along with the ability to navigate complex policy environments and deliver innovative solutions that support the growth of the renewable energy sector.
