Your impact
Handshake is hiring a Senior Software Engineer role on the Handshake Promotions Team. In this role you will contribute to the teams mission of driving Marketplace Outcomes like attributable hires impressions and CTR to name a few through product innovation; acquisition and revenue generation. This is an exciting space where you will help build the ad engine forecasting system and bidding platform for promotions on the entire Handshake product. You will have the opportunities to lead large projects through all developmental stages from early brainstorming and requirements refining visual design architectural design experimental design scoping and finally release.
Your role
- Your daytoday work will feature regular collaboration on a crossfunctional team with a designer product manager and other engineers. You will also engage frequently with engineers support marketing and data analysts across the organization.
- You will architect and build features to promote content like jobs resumes on different channels of the Handshake platform.
- You will lead by example in maintaining a high standard of quality in your own work and in the feedback provided to peers in code review and architecture discussions.
- You will lend your technical knowledge and experience to influence the teams roadmap and prioritization of innovation and operational health initiatives such as quality control and oncall.
- You will provide mentorship to engineers and unblock and support your team to meet deliverables.
- You will lead sizable individual projects and projects that require multiple engineers.
Your experience
- You have experience as a full stack engineer with a focus on backend and are confident driving architectural decisions on both frontend and backend.
- You have demonstrated success collaborating with partners in product design and analytics to define build and ship great products and experiences.
- You have experience leading large projects from idea to high quality delivery.
- You act with empathy when working with fellow engineers and coworkers and enjoy providing mentorship and guidance to enable and support your team.
- You strive for individual and team growth proactively seeking feedback and identifying areas of the code processes or procedures that need improvement.
- You are a strong communicator and can articulate technical concepts and rationale to audiences of varying technical knowledge levels.
Bonus area of expertise
- You have worked with Ruby Ruby on Rails Typescript ReactJS and PostgreSQL.
- You have worked on SMB SAAS products at scale.
- You demonstrate ownershipmentality and maintain a high degree of accountability for your work.
Compensation range
$180000 $220000
For cash compensation we set standard ranges for allU.S.based rolesbased on function level and geographic location benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
