Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program Description
Position Description: The Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program is a one year opportunity open to Delbarton alumni currently in their senior year of college. The term of the Fellowship is from August to June of their first postgraduate year. The Program is intended to give alumni considering a career in education an opportunity to experience life in a Catholic secondary school environment. It is also designed to provide a gap year for alumni embarking on a postgraduate degree program or career. Up to three Fellows will be selected annually.

Each year Fellows will be responsible for managing the Delbarton Alumni Mentor Program an afterschool program open to all students that offers time management organizational and test preparation skills. During these sessions Fellows will serve as young adult mentors working closely with our students to help plan schedules and assist with course concerns. To integrate the alumni mentors back into the Delbarton community each mentor also will assist in a cocurricular activity or sport and shadow a faculty member during the academic year. The Administration will match each mentors experiences and interests with a cocurricular that best serves him and our community. Alumni mentor team diversity is important so it is vital that our Fellows offer a variety of skill sets passions and expertise to the school.
Hiring:Each year Delbarton School will advertise the Teacher Fellowship Program to Delbarton alumni currently in their senior year of college. For example for theacademic year Delbarton School would share news of the Program opportunity with members of Delbarton Class of 2021 and other alumni graduating college in 2025.
Applicants will go through Delbarton Schools standard hiring process including submission of a cover letter and resume an Employment Application a formal interview process and a full background check.

Teacher Fellow Responsibilities:
Organize and manage the afterschool Alumni Mentor Program
Communicate student academic and personal progress to Guidance Department
Assist with at least one cocurricular activity on campus (i.e. athletic team forensics team club moderation DAP Campus Ministry Admissions etc.
Teach one course (must be approved by Assistant Headmaster for Academic Affairs and the relevant Dept. Chair)
Assist a faculty member with homeroom moderation
Open office hours during Mentors free periods
Additional Potential Responsibilities:

Admissions
Saturday morning interview days to help greet prospective families and applicants and talk with them about Mentors Delbarton experience
Alumni talks at Admissions testing presentation programs
Attend Admissions School Nights as a part of our representative team
Work with Admissions Department in the recruitment of potential students and families
Marketing & Communications
Capture and share fresh content (stories photos short videos) with the Delbarton Marketing & Communications office to be posted on Delbarton and Delbarton social media channels.
Compensation:
Stipend: Monthly stipend of $1250 additional compensation opportunities include site managing proctoring other
Housing: Free housing at Perry St. (July through June)
Student loans:(if applicable) payment of student loans due during the fellowship year (July through June)
