Service Delivery
A Pediatrician joining the group would:
Provide comprehensive pediatric care for a wide range of pediatric conditions including medical developmental and mental health concerns to in and outpatient pediatric patients
Participate in an outpatient Pediatric Diabetes Clinic supported by a Diabetes Nurse Educator Dietician and Social Worker
Participate in Pediatric Hospitalist and WellNewborn coverage 1 in every 5 weeks for pediatric and neonatal inpatients
Provide call coverage with 24h homecall shifts shared equally between 5 fulltime pediatricians (with hope for expansion of the group to 7 FTE within the next 2 years) currently averaging 67 call days per month (including 1 in 5 weekend calls). Call typically includes ER consults pediatric hospital admissions attendance at deliveries for high risk newborns (with RT and RN support) Level II NICU admissions and phone consults with providers and ER physicians in the region.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver patientcentered care
Optional participation in teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students
Optional participation in training courses within the Brightshores Corporation such as NRP or PALS with instructor status
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Interested candidates will ideally hold applicable FRCPC designation and an independent license to practice in Ontario. Potential for supervision may be available.
Uptodate PALS and NRP are strongly encouraged.
