Were looking for a part time Assistant Trainer for our Edmonton training location. The Assistant Rope Access Trainer will be responsible for assisting the Lead Trainer in planning and executing of SPRAT/IRATA rope access courses and Tower Training courses at Pacific Ropes training center. This job will start as a part time permanent position with potential going up to full time.
Job Duties:
- Assist ongoing IRATA and SPRAT training classes for Levels 13
- Help implement supplemental course materials and guides that address individual and course specific learning needs
- Use developed flexible teaching strategies in order to relay theoretical knowledge as well as practical application
- Supervise and coordinate smaller groups
- Ensure appropriate skill sets and resources are available for each training class
- Keep up to date with research and developments according to industry trends IRATA and SPRAT regulations and safe work at height standards
- Maintain and manage training center equipment
- Provide constructive feedback instruction and encouragement
- Evaluate training program and activities to ensure effective training; discuss with TRAINING MANAGER and/or LEAD TRAINER
- Work with Pacific Ropes Administration to ensure all paperwork and resources are adequate for students
- Work with Pacific Ropes Administration to ensure IRATA and SPRAT training requirements are met
- Follow Pacific Ropes Instructors Manual; communicate any changes as necessary
- Understand and comply with Pacific Ropes mission for training (Innovation Safety Collaboration Mentorship)
- Adjust training methods and develop alternative solutions if expected results are not seen in order to continuously improve
- Maintain cleanliness of classroom kitchen bathrooms and training areas.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Must have IRATA and SPRAT Level 2 or Level 3 certification
- Occupational First Aid Certification
- Expertise in rope access with at least 5 years of industry experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Prioritizes safety and safe work at height
- Committed to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to build relationships with all students
- Excellent leadership skills with ability to motivate others
- Flexibility and adaptability to different situations
- Creative problem solving in order to provide flexible training for different learning styles
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail for the development implementation and tracking of rope access training
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
