Yard Spotter Non CDL Shipping Department
Overview:
BRT Extrusions located in Niles OH is looking for an experienced Yard Spotter to join our expanding Shipping Department. This is a full time hourly position. Shifts may vary including nights weekends and holidays as needed. Wage for this position is $18.00 for an experienced yard spotter.

Key Responsibilities of the Yard Spotter
Safely maneuver and position trailers within the yard using a yard truck (spotter truck).
Assist in organizing and managing trailer inventory within the facility.
Work closely with warehouse staff drivers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
Perform pretrip and posttrip inspections on equipment reporting any issues or maintenance needs.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company safety protocols.
Ensure proper placement of trailers at loading docks or designated spots.
Communicate effectively with team members via radio or other communication devices.
Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills for the Yard Spotter
Previous experience as a yard spotter required
Ability to operate a yard truck (hostler truck spotter truck) safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of trailer movement and yard operations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical requirements
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk bend stoop twist turn and climb and push frequently. With proper safety equipment an individual in this role may work above ground level (off the ground) for long periods of time. An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. And individual in this role will remain stationary for as much as approximately 75 of the time. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing and this role requires individuals to read and follow written procedures in English.
