Position Overview
Under direction of the Chief Administrative Law Judge serves as Deputy Chief Administrative Law Judge of the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR). As a key member of the Administrative Hearings unit directly supervises a team of administrative law judges and support staff dedicated to ensuring the fair and efficient resolution of disputes by Illinois taxpayers and their representatives. In furtherance of that mission serves as a subject matter expert required to conduct and oversee the more complex or controversial hearings involving deficiency claim liability or other taxrelated disputes. Researches and analyzes case appeals court rulings and decisions investigation reports and other resource documents to prepare for hearings and reviews evidence to insure legality and statutory compliance. Prepares recommendations for disposition of cases involving summary of material evidence statement of findings facts and conclusions drawn. Provides relevant information and serves as a liaison between the program areas and other responsibilities as directed by the Chief Administrative Law Judge. This candidate is expected to work in office at our Springfield location full time.
