2025 Summer Internship Boston Childrens Hospital Office of Government Relations & Office of Payor Relations
The Offices of Government Relations and Payor Relations work with policy decisionmakers at the local state and national levels to uphold the hospitals mission of providing exceptional clinical care research and training for pediatric providers. We work with our partners within the legislature across payors and throughout the community to develop and advocate for policy solutions to keep young people safe and healthy.
The summer internship will run from May 2025 to August 2025. Exact start and end dates are flexible. The internship schedule will be 32 hours per week during normal business hours MondayThursday. This internship is a hybrid format with the requirement for the intern to be inperson at least one day a week (minimum of 5 hours). Tuesdays are highly recommended and strongly preferred for inperson attendance.

This is a paid position: $17.50$22.00/hour; salary is determined by education level.
The Government Relations Summer Intern will be responsible for:
Leading market research on public policy topics by undertaking independent review of public data from sources including the Division of Insurance (DOI) and the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA)
Researching public policy topics including conducting literature reviews on health policy public health and payorspecific topics and interviewing internal and external stakeholders to summarize findings and develop briefing memos
Streamlining and centralizing departmental electronic resources including organizing a slide library creating a Zotero bibliography and assembling external reports for inclusion in a hospitalwide knowledge management center
Collaborating with team members to complete special projects rooted in relevant data sources including the departmental customer relationship management (CRM) database and individual research
Creating infographics to visually demonstrate and document departmental processes
Attending relevant coalition legislative and community meetings
To qualify you must have:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for theacademic year
Demonstrated interest in and passion for child health policy and government advocacy in addition to experience with data analysis
Preferred attributes include:
A demonstrated commitment through practice or advocacy to equity inclusion social justice and community engagement
Excellent interpersonal communication writing research and time management skills
Ability to work well in teams and independently
