Job Description
We are seeking a professional and vigilant Surveillance Officer to join our security team in Gaborone Botswana. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities through constant monitoring and analysis of surveillance systems.
- Monitor and operate video surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activities or security breaches
- Analyze surveillance footage and report any unusual or potentially threatening situations
- Maintain detailed logs of all observations and incidents
- Coordinate with other security personnel and local law enforcement when necessary
- Conduct regular checks of surveillance equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Assist in investigations by providing relevant surveillance data and reports
- Stay updated on current security protocols and implement best practices
- Respond promptly to alarms or alerts and initiate appropriate security measures
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all surveillance activities and findings
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security certification (e.g. Certified Protection Officer) preferred
- Previous experience in security law enforcement or a related field
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various surveillance equipment and technologies
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Indepth knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Physical fitness and stamina to remain alert during long shifts
- Understanding of local laws and regulations in Gaborone Botswana
- Knowledge of criminal behavior patterns and ability to recognize potential threats
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Experience with video surveillance systems and monitoring software
- Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights weekends and holidays
