Job Description
About the Role
As a Commis Chef Level 2 Apprentice you will gain handson experience in a professional kitchen while working towards a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. Under the guidance of experienced Holroyd Howe chefs you will learn essential skills including:
- Food preparation techniques cooking methods and presentation skills
- Working efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Understanding and maintaining food hygiene safety and allergen regulations
- Assisting in the production of highquality meals for students staff and special events
- Learning how to work with fresh seasonal ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes
- Supporting stock control ordering and kitchen organisation
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications & Training
To be eligible for the Commis Chef Level 2 Apprentice role at Holroyd Howe Stowe School you should have:
Essential:
- A keen interest in cooking and professional catering
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) if not already achieved support will be provided to complete these as part of the apprenticeship
- A willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
- A strong work ethic enthusiasm and commitment to training
Desirable:
- Previous kitchen experience (not essential but beneficial)
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (if not held training will be provided)
- Knowledge of food safety allergens and hygiene standards
