Job Description

About the Role

As a Commis Chef Level 2 Apprentice you will gain handson experience in a professional kitchen while working towards a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. Under the guidance of experienced Holroyd Howe chefs you will learn essential skills including:

  • Food preparation techniques cooking methods and presentation skills
  • Working efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
  • Understanding and maintaining food hygiene safety and allergen regulations
  • Assisting in the production of highquality meals for students staff and special events
  • Learning how to work with fresh seasonal ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes
  • Supporting stock control ordering and kitchen organisation

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications & Training

To be eligible for the Commis Chef Level 2 Apprentice role at Holroyd Howe Stowe School you should have:

Essential:

  • A keen interest in cooking and professional catering
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) if not already achieved support will be provided to complete these as part of the apprenticeship
  • A willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
  • A strong work ethic enthusiasm and commitment to training
  • Desirable:

  • Previous kitchen experience (not essential but beneficial)
  • A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (if not held training will be provided)
  • Knowledge of food safety allergens and hygiene standards
