Job Description:
Client has a contract opportunity in our Foxboro MA location for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Electronic and/or Electrical Product Design and Engineering. Temporary support only to year end.
This role will be Hybrid Mon/Thurs in office potentially/ 8am5pm hours and the ideal candidate will be expected to provide engineering level support on assigned and unassigned projects over the life cycle of new and legacy products. Teams video followed by Teams FacetoFace with Eb & Gary. Teams call with HM in the end.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work within a global collaborative R&D team to create and improve printed circuit board designs using Cadence design systems (Allegro).
Release projects to manufacturing by creating schematic design capture new part numbers detailed descriptions and printed board assemblies (BOM structures) for new and legacy products or projects.
Work within the Windchill PDM application tool to store fabrication documentation schematics Gerber files etc.
Resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements by making determinations such as modifying designs versus sending parts back to vendors.
Attend regular team meetings including engineering change order meetings in support of manufacturing & quality assurance analysis and correction of manufacturing defects.
Work collaboratively with other engineering resources project management purchasing etc. and assist in applying core engineering concepts to solve complex unfamiliar and novel problems.
Expected to work with minimal assistance with an ability to suggest innovative solutions from streamlining processes to completing a backlog of tasks.
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards.
COMPETENCIES (What qualities will make you successful):
Good understanding of control electronic Products specifically analog and digital circuits and power electronics circuits with 5 years of experience.
Ability to lead PCB specs release in qualification and in PDM.
Support qualification of Electronic components such as IGBTs Magnetics Thyristors AC/DC capacitors FAN s etc.
Knowledge of test equipment CRO AC Source DC Source Auto transformers MultiMate s Data loggers.
Ability to design and implement PCB designs that meet electrical EMC Safety mechanical thermal and DFA/DFM requirements of the System.
Ability to run independent tests with good knowledge in basic troubleshooting of products.
Ability to generate alternate solutions during feasibility studies during PCB modifications.
Prior experience working with design packages and product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools is required (more specifically Allegro and Windchill PDM or similar type processes)
Ability to work crossfunctionally (i.e. with Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Project Management) is strongly desired.
Detail Oriented: Able to accurately follow precise procedures and thoroughly complete assigned tasks by using strong followup skills.
EDUCATION & OTHER SKILLS:
4 Year Bachelor s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Knowledge of Ladder Logic GE Proficy Software or Modicon Control Expert Software would be ideal.
Proficient computer skills including: MS Teams MS Word MS Excel and MS Access
Communication with all levels of management in verbal and written form.
