Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) Night Coverage

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Virginia

Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: 46 Months

Clinical Shift Schedule: Night Shift: 14 shifts/month 7 on/7 off preferred minimum 7 shifts/month)

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adult Inpatient Population

Admissions: Required; 34 per night

Procedures: Preferred but not required

Vent management required

Intubations preferred (Emergency Medicine EM available if needed)

Code Response: NP/PA responds to codes and rapid responses (EM assists with codes and emergent procedures)

FACILITY INFORMATION

Reason for Coverage: Supplemental

EMR: Meditech

Temp Privileges: Available once CVO process is completed

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Licensing and Certification:

Must have an active Virginia (VA) license and DEA

Must have a clean file (No malpractice etc.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Rate: TBD

Malpractice Insurance: Covered

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active VA State License and DEA

Experience: Prior inpatient hospitalist experience preferred

Procedures: Must indicate ability to perform procedures (if applicable)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide night shift inpatient hospitalist coverage

Perform patient admissions and rapid responses

Collaborate with medical staff and support teams

Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and care management

Participate in hospital protocols and quality initiatives

Perform procedures if applicable (vent management required; intubations preferred)
