The professionally registered Mechanical Engineer/Technologist will take responsibility for the delivery of multidisciplinary mechanical building services engineering projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Building Services design: HVAC and Fire. Wet services would be an advantage.
- Take on the role of Responsible Mechanical Engineer and sign off on designs
- Successfully plan organize manage and control projects
- Bid and tender preparation and submission
- Adherence to QMS system
- Training and mentoring of junior staff
- Client interfacing
- Project management ability
Requirements
- BEng (Mech) BSc Eng (Mech) or BTech degree in mechanical engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA is a requirement. 5 years post would be advantageous
- PMP (optional but advantageous)
- GBCSA qualification (optional but advantageous)
Experience:
- HVAC (VRF Chilled Water Hot Water Air Handling)
- Fire Protection and Sprinklers
- Plumbing and Drainage (beneficial)
- Wet Services ability would be advantageous
- Calculations from first principles
- Min 7 to 10 years post graduate design experience in mechanical building services projects
- Proven construction monitoring and contract administration experience
- Working knowledge of relevant South African standards (SANS National building regulations)
- Experience with infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
