Job Description
The senior accountant will report to the Manager of the team or directly to the Head of Pool (HoP) and will :
- Manage a portfolio of Institutional clients active in the real estate industry (the entities are Propcos and Holdcos with assets mainly located in Germany):
- Review deliverables prepared by the Global Client Delivery (GCD) for this clients portfolio and monitor answer to clients requests
- Review the annual financial statements prepared by the GCD
- Review and coordinate with the GCD the preparation of financial reporting and closing process
- Review the VAT returns and tax returns
- Review the tax provisions
- Assist in treasury management functions and review of the entities fees projections
- Manage the relationships with the fund manager real estate asset manager the property manager the tax advisor the auditors the lawyer and the banks
- Review and followup BCL or CSSF reports if applicable
- Assist in the liquidation process
- Assist the FATCA CRS team for the FATCA and CRS reportings if applicable
- Check file and archive tax and accounting documents of his/her portfolio to ensure the completeness of the files
- For the files not assigned to the GCD the senior will prepare all the above tasks under the supervision of the manager or the HoP
- Directorship mandates and attendance to the board meetings
- Manage the relationships with other service providers including auditors tax advisors law firms and banks
- Understand structure of new clients investments including the reporting and tax implications
- Act as active team member to deliver the highest quality standard of service to clients
- Utilise Technical support team / additional resources appropriately and where required
- Executes and ensures timely delivery of quality services
- Apply internal procedures
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelor/BAC3: Accountancy/Business Administration
- At least 34 years of experience in Accounting with a significant experience in Real Estate
- Computer/program knowledge: Microsoft office knowledge of Yardi Demasy
- Strong technical accounting (Lux GAAP) skills are essential IFRS and German GAAP will be an asset
- Languages: Fluent in English and German and any other language would be an advantage
