Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT  

The Purchasing Freight & Warehouse intern will gain experience and be responsible for the following:

  • Gathering bid data from internal customers
  • Determining suppliers to invite to RFP
  • Project Kickoff (Baseline analysis market data bid strategy timeline)
  • Running negotiation rounds with its analysis and summary for internal customers
  • Project approval at Continental tools
  • Rate sheet .

Objective:

To secure contract rates for a specific period of time and to ensure network.

Qualifications :

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Student currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited degree program for at least another 12 months and willing to dedicate 12 months toward internship
  • Working toward a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business / Supply Chain / Finance / Marketing or similar
  • Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during normal business hours (MonFri)
  • This is a hybrid role and must be willing to commute to Fort Mill campus 3 days per week (MonFri)
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint etc. *TMS System / bidding platform / SAP / DocuSign / K2 / CLM and other Purchasing tools. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
