Job Description

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Trainee Field Engineer will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to carry out preventative maintenancerepairs and installations of suspended access and height safety equipment. The role includes training on troubleshootingemergency breakdowns working with customers and complying with health and safety regulations. Over time the trainee willdevelop the skills necessary to work independently within the field.

OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical Learning & Development

Under supervision assist in servicing maintaining and repairing height safety equipment including:

  • Technical Learning & Development
  • Fall Arrest and Life Safety Lines
  • Eyebolts fall restraint and abseil
  • Gantries and walkways
  • Guardrails
  • Ladders fixed and portable
  • General lifting equipment

Follow company training programs to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.
Shadow senior engineers to gain a deep understanding of troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Ensure compliance with British Standards and health and safety regulations.

Customer Engagement

  • Learn how to communicate effectively with customers addressing inquiries and providing updates on workprogress.
  • Assist in reporting additional work required following inspections or maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a professional and positive company image at all times.

Sit Surveys and Reporting

  • Assist in site surveys accurately recording all relevant information.
  • Support the team by documenting findings and communicating them to the line manager.

Customer Care

  • Ensure High Levels of Customer Satisfaction: Strive for excellence in customer satisfaction by consistentlymeeting or exceeding their expectations.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold the companys image by representing it in a professional manner at alltimes fostering positive interactions with customers.

Order Management

  • Help compile service reports and communicate findings clearly to customers.
  • Ensure all required information is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner onto the SimproSoftware Application.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Willingness to learn and develop within an engineering role.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Teamoriented with a proactive approach to problemsolving.
  • A full clean UK driving license (or working towards obtaining one).

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a handson role (construction electrical mechanical or similar).
  • Basic engineering knowledge or qualifications.
  • An interest in height safety equipment and working at heights.

Training and Development

  • Full training will be provided including classroombased and onthejob learning.
  • Opportunity to gain certifications in working at height safety standards.

The Trainee Field Engineer plays a vital role in the success of the engineering team by maintaining strong communication channels managing customer expectations and ensuring the efficient of projects. Rotrex Winches provides specialist lifting and pulling winches and equipment as well as related services such as projectmanagement planning training and support. Our exclusive winch brands in the UKand the EU includes OMAC Thompson Colt
and Wharton.

Rotrex OnSite manages the maintenance of highlevel cradle and fall protection equipment as well as cradle inspection testingand operator training. We ensure safe working conditions and legal compliance for our customers. These activities are carried
via our locations in the UK.


Pay: 24000.00 per year
