Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Talent Development and Learning is responsible for shaping and executing a transformative leadership learning and performance management strategy to enhance team members performance engagement and career growth.  

AWP Safety is seeking a strong leader with deep expertise in leadership development training and culture initiatives. The successful candidate will have proven experience leading successful leadership development functions in large and matrixed organizations. They will have expertise in designing and delivering engaging innovative and impactful training programs for leaders at all levels from first time managers to senior executives; ensuring that programming aligns with the companys priorities values and leadership behaviors.

This role requires a strategic visionary with a deep understanding of leadership theory and practice exceptional program management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for enterprisewide leadership and supervisor development that aligns with AWP Safetys culture leadership expectations and equips leaders at all levels to build highperforming teams capable of executing on the companys strategic priorities.
  • Continually identify and calibrate enterprise leadership development priorities through assessments feedback focus groups and strong partnership with HR leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of engaging multimodal learning programs that include elearning instructorled training and peertopeer coaching to develop all levels within the organization.
  • Establish a strategic approach to leadership development; building a pipeline of future leaders through a suite of programs that supports the growth of highpotential talent and emerging leaders.
  • Partner across Talent Management to support mentorship and sponsorship initiatives to enhance and accelerate leadership development and succession planning.
  • Design and implement foundational development experiences for managers focusing on foundational skills such as team management strategic thinking and performance management; preparing them for expanded leadership responsibilities as their career progress and business needs align.
  • Partner with senior executives and department heads across HR and the business to understand leadership opportunities requirements and ensure development programming aligns with organizational priorities.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of development programs using metrics feedback and external perspective to continually improve content and delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of learning and development professionals providing guidance support and professional growth opportunities aligned to their strengths capability gaps and areas of interest.
  • Develop and manage the budget for leadership and manager development programs ensuring effective use of resources and cost efficiencies.
  • Act as the business owner for external leadership development vendor resources; managing external training providers as needed.
  • Implement and drive succession planning with a focus on midmanagement.

 

This is a hybrid role that needs to sit on the east coast or the mid west close to a major airport 

35 Travel required 


Qualifications :

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • Must Reside on the East Coast/MidWest near a major airport
  • Bachelors degree in business Human Resources Organizational Development or a related field; masters degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 1015 years of experience in leadership development talent management or related fields with at least 5 years serving in a senior leadership role and ideally in a matrix organization.
  • Experience building robust instructorled including virtual and selfpaced curricula for new and experienced managers and supervisors.
  • Deep understanding of leadership models and adult learning theory and practices.
  • Strong project management communication presentation and collaboration skills. Ability to think critically solve problems and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) or other developmental tools.
  • A demonstrated commitment to superior customer service and operational excellence.
  • Exhibits innovation and creativity in addressing future challenges.
  • An understanding of the business benefits of various organizational structures and processes and the ability to build and articulate linkages to improved operating performance.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and mentor who models high performance skills and outcomes.


Additional Information :

Compensation: $235000 to $255000

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidates geographic region jobrelated knowledge skills and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or longterm incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to the full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the level and position offered.
