A well established company is currently recruiting for a QHSE Manager in Takoradi Ghana
SUMMARY
The QHSE Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality health safety and environmental management systems within the oil and gas fabrication workshop. This includes ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies minimizing operational risks and driving continuous improvement across quality safety and environmental performance. The role involves managing QHSE teams leading audits investigations and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in QHSE management with at least 5 years in the oil and gas fabrication industry or a similar environment.
- Indepth knowledge of QHSE standards regulations (e.g. ISO 9001 ISO 14001 ISO 45001 OSHA) and environmental and safety regulations.
- Experience in managing risk assessments audits inspections and investigations.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes welding and other workshop operations in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a QHSE team and work collaboratively with other departments.
- Strong problemsolving decisionmaking and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence staff at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QHSE management software.
- NEBOSH IOSH or equivalent QHSE certifications are required.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and business continuity planning is an advantage
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans including resource systems timescales to support contribute to and integrate within the organisations annual business plan and long term strategy.
- Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products to measure performance against established standards.
- Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
- Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
- Liaise and cooperate with quality management and standards bodies (eg GSA Government Departments EPA etc). Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals discipline training development etc).
- Manage performance against agreed targets and within policies and standards.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues)
Health and Safety
- To communicate the existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy.
- To ensure all operations are undertaken in a safe workplace without risk to health.
- Provision of suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policy and practices.
- Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
- Provision of emergency procedures firstaid facilities safety signs relevant protective clothing and equipment and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
Environmental
- Develop and maintain environmental management systems.
- Report as necessary on changes in Legislation and on performance against such Legislation.
- Contribute to executive policy and strategy on Environmental issues.
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
- Provision of emergency procedures and incident reporting processes to the relevant authorities.
