Job Description
Senior ETL / BI Test Analyst Sydney
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan manage and perform functional testing of Dataware implementations across onpremise and cloud platforms ensuring that data flows and transformations meet project requirements. (Mandatory)
- Perform data reconciliation and report testing using advanced database queries and leading industry tools including Talend Informatica IBM Infosphere Azure Data Factory and others. (Mandatory)
- Create and maintain test scripts for validation and verification phases of the ETL lifecycle including advanced database queries and packages. (Mandatory)
- Perform testing of ETL processes ensuring data consistency transformation accuracy and loading of data from source to target systems.
- Work with crossfunctional teams including Data Engineers Business Analysts and Data Architects to define test requirements and ensure that testing aligns with business objectives.
- Document test cases results and defects while providing feedback and recommendations for improving the data pipeline.
- Analyze test results to identify data quality issues validate data integrity and verify that data meets the defined specifications.
- Ensure that testing efforts are aligned with project timelines and objectives while maintaining highquality standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in ETL testing and Business Intelligence (BI) testing across both onpremise and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure Data Factory AWS etc.).
- Strong experience with data reconciliation and report testing using advanced database queries (e.g. SQL PL/SQL) and ETL tools such as Talend Informatica IBM Infosphere Azure Data Factory.
- Experience creating and maintaining test scripts for data validation and verification in ETL pipelines.
- Ability to analyze and verify data integrity transformations and load processes.
- Strong communication skills for working closely with business teams to understand and translate testing requirements.
- Familiarity with cloudbased platforms and their impact on data integration and ETL processes.
- Experience in testing data quality performance and data flow across large datasets and complex systems.
Required Certifications:
- ETL/BI Testing certifications (e.g. Talend Informatica) or relevant industry certifications are preferred.
- ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent (optional).
- Any relevant certifications in Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure AWS) or Data Engineering (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
