We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SeniorCommodity Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sourcing negotiation and supplier performance analysis for a range of commodities. The role involves managing relationships with suppliers optimizing costs ensuring product quality and maintaining supply chain efficiency. This position will focus on achieving the best value for the company while ensuring that operational and strategic goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Negotiation and Sourcing:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers for key commodities ensuring competitive pricing favorable terms and highquality products.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet organizational needs while optimizing cost structures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
- Manage the selection and qualification of suppliers ensuring they meet quality cost and delivery requirements.
- Supplier Performance Management:
- Analyze supplier performance through key metrics (quality delivery cost etc.) and track improvements or areas for development.
- Work with suppliers to address performance issues and develop corrective actions to improve performance.
- Continuously monitor market trends and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment with purchasing strategies and overall business goals.
- Commodity Management:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of commodity procurement from initial sourcing to delivery.
- Track and manage inventory levels ensuring product availability while avoiding overstock situations.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about commodity pricing trends industry changes and global supply chain developments.
- Develop strategies for mitigating supply risks such as diversifying sources or leveraging longterm contracts.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. logistics quality assurance engineering) to ensure alignment between purchasing decisions and business needs.
- Provide analysis and insights to management on commodity purchasing trends and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement purchasing or commodity buying (3 years preferred).
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyze supplier performance and develop actionable improvement plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of market trends and global supply chain dynamics.
